The Children's Education Center of the Islands (CECI, as most know it) is Sanibel's only preschool. The school was established in 1974 by parents on the island and follows a nature based, child-led learning curriculum.
Like so many places on Sanibel, Hurricane Ian wreaked its havoc upon our sweet little island school. While one of CECI's buildings still needs rebuilt, CECI has managed to beat the odds and has come back this August, welcoming students once again in their renovated, surviving building.
Rachel Pierce holds CECI in a special place in her heart and was able to give them the gift of a mural to welcome students, teachers, and parents back to the classroom. While the progress is incredible, there is still so much to be done to complete the school's rebuild of their second building.
This unique tea towel features a print of Rachel Pierce's vibrant ocean scene that the children of CECI are enjoying everyday. Your purchase of this tea towel goes directly to benefit CECI and all preschoolers of the islands, with 50% of the proceeds being donated back to the school.
We urge and encourage you, if you can, to please visit CECI's website and donate an additional contribution to their rebuild today.
Each towel is made from a composition of 85% micro-polyester and 15% polyamide, making them both durable and soft to the touch. They come in one size that's perfect for kitchens of any scale, measuring 16"x25", with a sewn-in-care label.
